Carrie O’Connell will lead Glengary Elementary for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year

The Walled Lake Consolidated Schools’ administration appointed Carrie O’Connell as Glengary Elementary’s interim principal for the start of the 2023-24 school year, where she will remain through the completion of the school year.

“I am honored and humbled for this opportunity,” said O’Connell. “It’s been wonderful getting to know this incredible Glengary community since the start of the school year, and I cannot wait to see what amazing things we accomplish together throughout the rest of the school year.”

O’Connell has worked within Walled Lake Consolidated Schools for the past 20 years, most recently serving in a leadership role as Dublin Elementary’s instructional specialist for two years. Prior to that, O’Connell taught kindergarten and fifth grade for 17 years at Wixom Elementary.

“Mrs. O’Connell has done a fantastic job at Glengary Elementary thus far, and we look forward to her continued leadership throughout the remainder of the school year,” said Dr. John Bernia, superintendent of schools. “I am confident in her ability to succeed in this role, as she has in each of her previous roles within the District.”
